WHY WILL AN ADDITIONAL COPAYMENT OF UP TO $25 BE ADDED FOR LONG-TERM PRESCRIPTIONS NOT CONVERTED TO MAIL ORDER AFTER THE 3RD FILL?

The goal of the prescription program is to increase usage of the CVS Caremark mail order service and by doing so, help improve patient care. Some studies suggest higher medication adherence rates when patients purchase medication through a mail channel versus retail. Also, usage of the Pharmacy enhances the ability of CVS Caremark's pharmacists to provide counseling to health plan members. In addition, increased usage of CVS Caremark's mail order service is expected to lower costs for both the health plan and its members.
